We're at it again! Gearing up for the 2023 Event to be held on May 13 & 14th at the Liberty Science Center.
... to provide an opportunity for high performing FLL Challenge teams to compete in a Championship caliber event in a fun and exciting post-season atmosphere. We will be running this event with all the exciting trappings of IN-PERSON events including pit areas, judging, robot runs, opening/closing/awards ceremonies. We are fully confirmed for a 1 day event on Saturday May 13th, 2023 at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ.
Regarding COVID safety, all facility (Liberty Science Center) rules, local government laws, state laws, and federal laws will be followed for this event.
This is a FIRST unofficial community event, meaning that FIRST is aware of the event and our progress, but does not officially support it. We will have help from officials that are a part of FIRST Mid-Atlantic and other regional FIRST organizations.
We recently formed a NJ entity "American Robotics Open Championship Corp" that is in process for filing as a NJ non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Our team has had a history of running a variety of competitions including FLL, FTC, and WRO qualifiers since 2014 as well as the 2019 WeDo US National Championships. Note that this non-profit approval process in NJ takes several months and may or may not be in place at the time of the event.
Benefit today’s youth, safely conduct non-profit in-person robotics competitions during the age of COVID through modern workplace tools and a highly mobile volunteer support staff that represents the demographics of America today.
